Do You Hate Exercise? Then You Can Do Yoga!

Yoga isn’t exercise.

But at some point in the West, this became the way to “sell” it.

We wouldn’t need to “sell” it if we just represented it properly in the first place!

Yoga Is a Practice

There are three practices that commonly get mixed up as being things that they’re not:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Buddhism

The cool thing is these three are complimentary. Yoga, meditation, and Buddhism are practices.

None Of These Are Religions

Nor do they compete with religion.

Yoga helps you meditate. Buddhism helps you comprehend life on a spiritual path. But so do yoga and meditation! You can practice one, none, or all three.

Back to the fitness angle.

Yoga Is More Than Exercise

Yoga is a manual for living and a way of life.

It leads to meditation and meditation leads to it. When properly understood, one sees how it aligns with Buddhism in many ways. The two are sister sciences.

Are there a variety of yoga practices we view as “physical exercise?” Yes! That’s not a bad thing. But it’s like not knowing what a book is and being told that People Magazine is “reading.”

I Invite You To Become Curious

Don’t just stop at “physical yoga practice.”

Don’t just get sweaty on a mat and think, ‘Yay, I got a good workout!’

Did your spirit get a workout? Did that workout teach you a higher form of self-awareness that will make you a better partner, coworker, neighbor, and friend?

Because this is what yoga can do! This is what’s available!
