Your throat chakra is all about the speech that passes through it. It’s about your “voice.” It’s about how you speak. Do you speak truth and love? Or are you speaking death, hate, and criticism?
Get to Know Your Throat Chakra
This is another favorite chakra of mine as we’ve spent years trying to understand one another. I think I finally “get” her. In my early 20s, I was plagued with throat issues, even losing my voice often. Guess what? At that same time I was doing a morning radio show in Phoenix, Arizona! Hmmm…wonder where I wasn’t “using my voice?” I felt stifled on air and like I was forced into “playing a character” rather than being myself. When I create and “speak my mind,” I find my throat is fine. (See what I did there?)
Learn About Your Throat Chakra
Your throat chakra is all about communication — how you communicate with others and what voice you bring to the world. The throat chakra, of Vishuddha, corresponds to the color blue. You can find extra power by wearing blue on a day you want to come across as extra communicative. Try it the next time you have to share a deck at work or give a speech.
But your throat chakra isn’t all talk — it’s also about hearing. This is also the chakra of listening!
How This Relates to Reiki
When your throat chakra is balanced, you communicate well and find it easy to gain your creative inspiration. When it’s out of alignment, it either spins too fast or too slow.
A throat chakra that spins too fast (or too open) will mean you come across as overly-talkative and trying to carry the conversation away. You may also be acting self-righteous and arrogant.
But when your throat chakra is vibrating too slow (closed), you’re holding back from your self-expression and communication. Your voice may be inconsistent. Are you speaking your truth?
An Exercise in Sending Reiki to Your Throat Chakra
No matter what condition your throat chakra is in (too fast/slow/just fine), you can always benefit from sending Reiki to your throat chakra. Place your hands anywhere around your throat, ears, or jawline and silently ask Reiki to begin. It’s always your intention to invite Reiki that is enough to call it in (once attuned).
You can send Reiki to your throat chakra to:
- Enhance communication
- Ask for help speaking your truth
- Find the right words to say
- Become a better listener
- Speak love
- Calm down after an argument in which harsh words were spoken
- Enhance your creative voice
How do you think your throat chakra is doing? Is it too fast or slow or just right? Are you having throat chakra issues in your life?
