How To Become A Content Creator Without Spending a Single Dollar
When I got started creating content, my monthly budget was ~$30 for my Squarespace site and (at that time) Acuity Scheduling.
But buying a website also means the extra expense of your domain name, annual renewals, etc. So how can you start without spending a single dollar? I thought I’d bend my brain and figure out a way to start for free — if I had it to do all over again knowing what I know now.
This is just to get started for your first month (or so) and then decide what you actually want to pay for.
Creating An Online Presence For Free
Twitter is free; use it to create threads.
Obviously, every social media account will be free, so you want the ones with the fastest returns like Twitter and TikTok. Typeshare is $20/mo (but I can hook you up with my discount, just ask). But if you absolutely cannot pay for Typeshare yet, just create threads on Twitter.
But what about that “link in bio?”
Linking To Your Website For Free
Create a landing page with ConvertKit and put that link in your bio.
If I had to do this all over again, I’d create a way to grab emails from day one. ConvertKit makes it easy and free. Plus, it provides a lot of training on how to do it.
I love finding ways to break down barriers so that you can begin today for free!
Put Your Voice Out There For Free
You can make :90 audio bites for free on Racket.
Anchor is a platform where you can create podcasts for free.
Don’t forget about TikTok or YouTube, though you’ll gain followers faster on TikTok.
