If I Had 🚢 #Ship30for30 To Do All Over Again, This is How I’d Do It Differently

Ship 30 was an awesome experience and I learned so much in a short time.

But it was also like drinking out of a firehose! There was too much goodness to take in.

I know another cohort will start next month, so this is for the newbies — here’s what I’d do differently if I had to do my first Ship30 all over again:

Ship from Day 1

Once you’re signed up and set up with Typeshare, don’t overthink it — just start shipping.

I often look back and wish I’d just gotten a few more initial data points more quickly. Grab a Typeshare template and just start writing.

My first atomic essay was horrible and it didn’t land. I say get all that out of your system sooner.

Make Your Best Effort to Get to Know People

In a word: interact.

Try your best to meet your introductions, reply to people on Twitter and in Circle — and give feedback.

I’m not usually shy, but I decided to focus on learning during this cohort. I met others who’ve done Ship 30 in previous cohorts who told me they were concentrating on a different aspect of it this time around.

Catch Every Live Session + Rewatch Them!

I’ll probably watch the session about Twitter threads a few times. I wish I’d caught that one live in order to ask questions!

All the live sessions are full of info, and you can watch them on-demand, but nothing is like live energy.

Participation is key to learning and being a part of the live sessions is just another way you can meet other shippers and interact. You never know who you’ll meet!
