The One Thing People Get Wrong About Meditation
Meditation isn’t the destination.
It’s not the end result — it’s the vehicle to get you there.
So where is “there?”
The Goal is Inner Peace
With all these practices:
- Meditation
- Yoga (not separate from meditation)
- Reiki
Your end goal is to find inner peace. You do this by doing the work. Which is why we call meditation a practice.
It’s not just <<snaps fingers>> I meditate and I’m at peace now!
When you meditate on a regular basis, you access peace more often.
You learn to access this place more easily. You will — over time — become less triggered and reactive to the world. You will become more self-aware.
This is what meditation does for you.
Having realistic expectations is important!
You will have great meditations where you access your place of peace. You will have meditations that are a total struggle, too.
Stick with it knowing that it gets better over time, like anything we practice.
If your meditation sucks today, just thank yourself for taking the time to practice and move on. 😉
