Wondering How a Newsletter Does On Memorial Day?

Here’s your answer.

It does just fine. If you’re like me, you probably thought to yourself, “I don’t need to put one out today, I can screw off. It’s a holiday.” But I choose to be consistent and I send a newsletter to my list every Monday morning.

Turns out, it’s been read more.

This Morning’s Newsletter Received a 27% Open Rate In The First Hour After I Sent It

That’s 2% better than last week already.

Now that could still drop or rise. People could still unsubscribe. We’ll see.

The point is this: there’s no reason NOT to send a newsletter today.

Schedule Those Holiday Newsletters Ahead of Time

Or not.

Because while it’s OK to bank a few newsletters for the days when you’re on vacation, sick, or traveling — you still need a contingency plan. I did not publish the newsletter I originally planned on due to recent events in the United States, where I live.

An auto-scheduled newsletter today would have been a horrible, tone-deaf mistake.
